Every so often I Google about new social networks, just to see what's out there. I mostly find a lot of really crappy sites like So.cl, but every so often I find something new. Well, I found one that could be a serious competition for Ning networks - if the creator has lots of money and doesn't care if their site is ugly. They'd also lose HTML ability... But Ollco DOES have a lot of really great features that would be pretty awesome.
These Features Include:

A lot of these are features that most major social networks such as Google+, Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter have... So why don't we? And even for the ones that they don't have... Wouldn't you want to have something ADDITIONAL to offer? :)

"Price Range Starts @ US$50,000 Onwards!"
Permalink Reply by Janettee McCrary on July 25, 2012 at 4:23pm That has GOT to be a typo - who would pay such outrageous prices for a social network?! Especially when it's missing features and can't be customized? I got a trial run and it really wasn't all that great... I saw BIG things that were missing. And they won't answer me about the price - they keep saying it depends on what you want. I'm sorry - So I can't customize it myself? I have to rely on someone else? Nope. I'm sticking with Ning - and really hoping that they take some of these ideas into consideration:)
Permalink Reply by Austin Walker on July 25, 2012 at 4:34pm I don't doubt that the price is real. I have a friend who just moved to my town. A year or so ago, he and some partners paid a guy $40,000 to build them a custom social network for a business they were launching. They paid it and the guy never completed the site. Later, the company they were launching went bust, and I thought.. no wonder, with business sense like that. When I told him that I could have built him a Ning network with custom domain and FB/Twitter sign-in, and that it would be complete in less than a week for a fraction of what he paid, he just groaned and didn't want to hear it!
Permalink Reply by Janettee McCrary on July 27, 2012 at 11:13pm That's just insane. I can't imagine spending that much money on a social network!
Permalink Reply by Manuel France on July 25, 2012 at 12:28pm Yep... the price is quiet ENORMOUS!!!
But 10 x 50000 = 10000 x 50...
There are a lot of good ideas and it is good to stay focus on what is our goal :
TO HAVE THE BEST SOCIAL NETWORKING PLATFORM SOLUTION ;-)
Permalink Reply by Janettee McCrary on July 25, 2012 at 4:24pm My thoughts exactly! That's why I "troll" the other sites - to get new ideas:)
