Hi All,
Earlier today we released a few mobile updates. Here's what's new:
Member listing and Profile pages
You can now create a Members page in the Mobile section of your dashboard to list your members and allow them to be searched. Members also have profile pages with profile answers and a comment wall.
Photo Swiping
Navigate to see next and previous photos in the photos section by swiping left and right.
Updates to Liking
We've made the Like action happen when you click the like icon, and have added a section in detail pages where you can see a list of people who have liked an item.
Self-Serve Opt-in
If you're not running the alpha on your network but want to try it out, you can turn it on yourself. Just visit:
http://yournetwork.com/main/admin/setMobileVersion
(replace yournetwork.com with the address for your network. Select Mobile 2.0 instead of Mobile 1.0 in the dropdown and click Update Mobile Version.
We're working towards graduating the alpha to Ning Labs, and would love your feedback on what we've built so far.

Hi. Thanks for the ongoing updates. Just a bit of feedback from what I've experienced so far.
Photo viewing is not working very well on my Blackberry Bold 9780. When I click on a photo in the grid view, I keep getting a message that pops up about resubmitting data for form view (see screenshot attached - 1.png).
Photo Swiping is not working. There is no way to navigate from one photo to next once you've opened a photo. You have to hit the 'back' or 'escape' button to step back, and that is not working well either because sometimes it takes me back to the grid view and sometimes it takes me back to the first individual photo I viewed with the resubmit data msg. and once it's done that the only way I can get back to photos is to use the dropdown list again.
My network name is also being cut off slightly along the top edge (see screenshot attached - 2.png).

Permalink Reply by soaringeagle on April 30, 2012 at 1:46pm when you click on a forum post it reverts to desttop view some members complained this made it too dificult to view posts
so i disabled it for now
i decided i will enable the alpha on weekends only when trafic is lil lower
i do want to help find bugs and report them but not if it limmits members and guests from being avble to get the info they seek
if that 1 lil bugs fixed soon i'll enable it again the other bugs i can live with for now
my list of bugs
forum posts revert to desktop view
photos load slow
chat doesnt pop up
once chat is opened it doesnt close
i only tested on ipad so i cant be sure but it didnt seem to auto detect mobile device and redirect to the mobile site i had to manualy enter the m in the url
or does ipad get treated as a desktop by default?
i have no phone to test on
Hi soaringeagle,
We have not deployed a mobile version of forum views yet; here or elsewhere we've mentioned that as a known issue.
Tablets do not get the mobile view; they get the desktop view. Chat isn't a feature of mobile yet, so I suspect whoever reported that issue must have been using the desktop view from their phone.
Thanks,
Phil

is there an eta on when the forum view will be live?
thats a very important feature for us and really dont think i can enable this for testing till that is included (you know i love beta testing and finding ..and sometimes fixing bugs
but if it limits access to our most important feature i'll have tio wait
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 1, 2012 at 9:21am We don't have timelines to offer for features, but we'll let you know as soon as they're ready. I would definitely not recommend turning this on for everyone unless you really want to test it out badly. Still needs a lot of work, but the work is moving along smoothly.

can you add fightersbook and the100.me to this list
Hi JFarrow,
You can opt-in your networks using the instructions above.

gotcha...thanks buddy
Permalink Reply by Chris Comish on May 2, 2012 at 12:41pm I tried the new version, it works great but the colors don't match my site design like 1.0 so I turned it off
Thanks Chris,
We are limiting design customizations to the logo and header for now.
