This drives me NUTS!
I am FOREVER finding myself going back in people's picture uploads and having to change the title of it from those ANNOYING camera file names (like dsc001587 or whatever) to whatever the picture is, as well as the link it creates so it can be properly indexed by search engines!
Wouldn't you much rather have a picture on your site indexed by Google and other engines as, say, "Dolphins In The Gulf of Mexico" than "dsc001587"? the image will NEVER EVER show in a Google image search for "dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico" with those crazy camera file numbers!
NING-is there ANY way you guys can change it to where it does NOT carry the picture's title from the members device to the title field in the uploading process, effectively forcing the uploader to give it a specific title, which would give the created link a specific title and path?
it would be a HUGE help!

what makes it worse, I have my photos auto-fed to my facebook fanpage via rss graffiti. once it gets there with the bad title/link, when i go change the title/link, the link on my facebook page then will no longer go to the image, but to a 404 error page. very annoying.

And some of these camera "titles" are 25 and 30 digits/characters! They throw off the alignment of your rows on the Photo module page. I got sick of doing it and finally quit. I hate it, but it's hard enough for me to get people to post their fiction correctly without worrying about photos. I don't know how sites whose sole focus is on their photos do it!
We need "FORCED" tagging and titles for photos!!

Permalink Reply by Speed Racer on November 5, 2011 at 9:10am i like the forced tagging as well. these two fixes would completely streamline photos in terms of searchability on the site and on search engines, good call Diane.
Permalink Reply by Caribso on November 5, 2011 at 6:28am I totally agree with you Speedracer, this would be awesome...
