Not sure what's going on, but as a NC who admins more than 7 networks, this is quite alarming.  Every single email sent from ning networks over the past couple of days has gone strait to my spam folder....including Creators emails and GASP...the Best of Creators for the week..

all spam...

not sure if this has something to do with ning servers but if others are experiencing this it may be something to look into ning!

Well, thankfully, it's not happening on my end.

Yes Jfarrow. Same thing here. Thanks for coming up with this issue.

still streaming into spam...and today so far I've gone from average of 15-20 new members at this point in the day to a big fat ZERO.....are you reading this ning?

Yes, I'm experiencing this, too, JFarrow.

The matter is that we're given such a narrow, narrow, NARROW target area to email professionally that the whole approach to SPAM needs to be objectively revisited...by mature ADULTS...and not just keep subjecting us to regurgitated rules from 5-10 years ago.

The current crude attempts to control BAD SPAM is preventing those of us who're attempting to conduct LEGITIMATE BUSINESS from being able to do so - unless we have deep enough financial pockets to hire someone to be as careful as humanly conceivable in assuring that we never, ever, ever have "a wrong word" in any text that ever comes from our sites.

In lumping every type of email into a mass bucket, we're wasting our productivity and we're wasting the services we create to actually HELP other professionals...

Not here.

not for me my suspicion is u accidently clicked spam on 1 wich then filtered them all as spam

mine came through fine

just put the ning addresses back on the allowed lists

Long term problem. Several factors:

1. Volume of emails coming from your network
2. Volume of emails coming from Ning's servers
3. Number of "dead" email addresses still being sent to.
4. The "return path" is Ning's domain, not yours.

Partial solutions:

1. Encourage members to select "digest" emails
2. Educate other NC's how to grow their networks without spamming?
3. Not much we can do as the bounces go to Ning, not us.
4. File a bug that the "return path" needs to be the same domain as the sender.

Other partial solutions:
1. See if you can set up SPF records with your domain.
2. Other email auth methods.

You can check your domain's email reputation with various blacklists, and ask for their removal. You can also ask your members to whitelist the various network email addresses, an add them to their address book. The more that do that, the better your email reputation.

It's a tough problem, and we need more info to deal with it. We need the bounces coming to us.

actualy if its happening to both u and bernard i bet u both share alotta code? go through and see  if any of your codes interfering i know as they add code for the ads it messed with some of my custom code wich i had to remove

not the case at all...this is coming from Creators network, My network, and ALL 5 other networks i help with administration with, including 2 networks which have practically ZERO customizations.... i appreciate your idea eagle, but lets not get this twisted...  Chris's reply is more along the lines of approaching a solution but i would like to know what Ning has to say about this...

i have heard from 5 other NCs privately who are experiencing the same problems

just trying to help i havent experienced it but other issues i have and seened to be related to the ning ad s beta  thats why i thought it might be a imular situation as they had with the daily digest awhile back

theres sites where u can check blacklisting  and often its by the ning ip  and might not propegate  completely to all networks so some would be affected before others

as of last night i know for sure mines working, so its a bit confusing that all 5 of yours are acting up

might be worth comparing mx records of q wirking and non working domain just to see if theres a diference

also.. arethe domain mapped sites or sites using the ning addresses?

it just might be worth comparing stuff like that to find a common factor

yes on a network that im helping out on..this has been happing

can you or anyone try ti trace back to the date and time of the 1st email going to spam?
