For the past month, I have not been able to update www.ionwomen.org regularly because a glitch in the Ning system is causing me to be automatically logged out each time I click the “edit” button. I never received an answer on my support ticket, and am unable to fill out a new support ticket because Ning is not recognizing my official network URL as valid (http://test-ionwomen.ning.com) for some reason. We have some important web updates coming up and I NEED to get the site working. Please note that this "glitch" happens about 90 percent of the time, but I never know when it will be working or not.
Permalink Reply by Vanessa Bradford on November 12, 2010 at 9:20am Also noticed that Ning logs me out every time I visit a new page. I will sign in while I'm at the home page. Then if I click on the blog page (or any other page), I'm not signed in anymore...
Hi Vanessa,
Have you added anything to your browser or computer that might be clearing your cookies or rejecting them? It sounds like that might be what's happening.
Thanks,
Phil
Permalink Reply by Vanessa Bradford on November 12, 2010 at 10:50am Thanks Phil. I'm using IE8 and have ensured that the domain always allows cookies. However, I'm still getting kicked off. I think it may be a Ning problem, but I could be wrong.
Hi Vanessa,
We have a large proportion of IE8 users across Ning and we're not seeing other reports of this kind of behavior. Is it possible that you started running some new security software on your PC around the time that the problem started? Is it possible for you to try a different browser to see if the problem is specific to IE?
Thanks,
Phil
