Hi Everyone,

As many of you know, we made a decision yesterday to focus 100% of the company on enhancing the features and services we offer to paying Ning Creators. The tens of thousands of you who already use our paid
service represent over 75% of our traffic, and we’ve heard repeatedly
from you ways that we can deliver a killer service to help make your
Ning Network more effective. Some examples of things we are working on
that you’ve asked for include new APIs, a new mobile experience and new
advertising and revenue opportunities.

As part of this change, we’ll be phasing out our free service.  On May 4, 2010, we will share with you all of the details of our new offering, including features and price points, through a series of blog
posts, emails, and conference calls. We recognize that there are many
active Ning Networks for teachers, small non-profits, and individuals
and it's our goal to have a set of product and pricing options that will
make sense for all of them. For Ning Creators using our free service who
choose to move to another service, we will offer a migration path and
time to make that change. We will still continue to allow free trials
and test networks on the Ning Platform.

We look forward to talking to you further on May 4th.

$5 a month would be reasonable indeed.
I don't mind if Ning keeps their adds running in the way they do now against that fee.

The link to the discussion Please everyone take not that this has been changed , it does not say what l just post in this post by Gordon White
The discussion is closed, why are you posting a link to it?
Yes l know, they were looking for the discussion because it had something there in the post and l just wanted to let them know who it was that post the dicussion. It was about test sites and trail site that was in the post then but it is not there now.
Some people thinks the waiting for the news on May 4th is like waiting for christmas and the packages, not really knowing.

Other people compare it to waiting in ICU at the hospital waiting to see if a family member is going to live or die. not really knowing

The last one is me, l feel like my family { Ning Friends} is dying .
Thank you for NOT letting us know... anyway, I do plan on enrolling my two Ning sites in the Premium services but I would like to know EVERYTHING that I'm paying for! and will we be under contract? I'd love to make sure we have an option to leave Ning if we are not satisfied with these upgraded Premium services. Thanks :D
Hello, Regina! Folks always have the option to start and stop and start again! But we sure hope you'll enjoy our new options and will just want to start and stay. I'm pretty excited about it. You'll be receiving an official email that explains all the details, but if you want to follow along on any unofficial info, we created a page that hopefully answers a few questions. We'll be updating it regularly with some of the most interesting discussions and replies we find on Creators — ideas, opinions, alternatives, you name it. It's kind of a news hub for NCs who want to stay extra-informed. Check it out if you're interested.
I'm actually looking for a better one, XP. Just need one to start with. I was actually looking at some of yours. Feel free to shoot me a message if you see one that is less partisan and more acceptable to you.
I was kind of liking your post: "$$$ amounts I need $$ amounts." But, it's probably out of context. Don't worry. I'm aiming to make it balanced. Just put it up this afternoon. Will probably include a bunch of choice quotes; again, as balanced as I can make.
Sorry, but I don't quite understand. I genuinely liked your comment. It's short, to the point, and it expresses your desire to know ASAP. I was trying to compliment you. I just thought it might look a little out of context for new folks who show up on that page. My apologies if I mis-spoke or was misunderstood. It was sincerely my attempt at a compliment.
Also, I wanted you to know that I did change that quote based on your feedback.
This should have been emailed to each Ning Creator immediately after the employees were informed. I still have had no direct word from Ning. If you want to have a business relationship, then you need to be prepared to communicate directly to your customers, not let them find out about stuff in the media.
