I just got an iPad 3 and found there are no editing toolbars for blogs, discussions, comments or replies...didn't check everything else. I just checked on a friend's iPad 1, and they aren't there on that either.

Am I the first one to report this? Is this something new? Surely this couldn't have been happening since the first iPad came out.

Hey, Steve. You're not the first person to report it, but you are right that it doesn't show up on the iPad. I think that the text editor we use might be able to be upgraded to support this, although I am not certain. It would have to be done with a future update.

Thanks, Eric. Please ask for this to be bumped up the update list. I don't care about it for myself, just for my members. They upload a lot of images into discussions.

Well, actually, the iPad can't upload images from its browser. Apple's iOS doesn't provide access to the photo library to mobile Safari.

Hi Steve,

The toolbar won't provide the ability for your members to upload photos on the iPad; that's a restriction imposed on mobile safari unfortunately.

Thanks,
Phil

Hey, Steve. Get this. I think Apple just announced mobile photo uploads for their new iOS. Just heard that from the Apple developer conference news via Twitter. So, that takes us one step closer.

Eric, that's great news. Thanks for telling me.

Let's hope we can capitalize on that news and make it happen.

I was just about to go on a trip and take my new iPad3 so that I could carry on adding content to my networks (which are Plus, not Pro, so it's not just a case of using the Wordpress Publisher app and a private blog etc.)

Can anyone suggest a workaround? Is it a case of creating a post in an app like (for example) Blogsy or using a private blog on wordpress.com and the iOS app, and then cutting and pasting the html? Or do I need to go and buy a netbook...lol....?

Tim,

From what I've found, you can't rearrange the home page layout either. I'd bring a netbook, but so many people have old ones lying around, there's a good chance you n orrw one from a friend.
