I didn't receive email for 9 hours. Did you?
I did some tests: the emails I send are not arriving. Emails are delayed in their routing I guess.

Permalink Reply by soaringeagle on May 26, 2012 at 1:54pm i often wonder what other networks are like cause every lil thing that goes wrong i hear ncs say "my members are going nuts and many are leaving" i know on my site they are way more relaxed about it when the flood of emails started ..i got only 1 comment about it at all and they just thought it was funny
other times i get comments about issues but they are very understanding and let things slide
maybe its cause my sitesfir folks with dreadlocks who tend to be m,ore layed back anyway
but i just find it funny how some of you say your members freak out over really superficial things
nit saying this wasnt a major glitch..it was
but i hear alot of ncs say their members freak out over something as simple as a text color change or how paragraph spacing is handled
all i can say is you must have infinite patience to deal with memberships that freak out over every lil thing like that..i couldnt handle it
Permalink Reply by Donna Mac on May 26, 2012 at 3:32pm I have a two word answer for you regarding my network: older ladies. When I tutor members how to navigate my site, where many don't know much about a computer, and then they stop receiving notifications they don't understand. When they get 100 in a day, they don't understand that either.
Permalink Reply by Donna Mac on May 27, 2012 at 5:28am And I might add. back to my original comment on the previous page.....that I am not referring to email notifications for this particular member. I am talking about messages that she deletes in your NING inbox. She deletes, they go away...the next time she signs in...the same messages are still sitting there. I am investigating this issue...and perhaps it is a new glitch...and has nothing to do with this thread.
Permalink Reply by Holly Dilatush on May 27, 2012 at 6:03am That is something I have not seen nor had any reports of. I wonder if she's using the checkbox and dropdown to delete or if she's deleting each one after opening them?
I sure hope that issue does not spread... it would aggravate me, for sure!
Hope it's resolved soon,
Thanks for the update/clarification,
Holly
Permalink Reply by Donna Mac on May 27, 2012 at 7:38am She has always deleted them...always. I've asked her to make screen shots of her inbox before she deletes, then after she deletes and then when they appear back again.
Permalink Reply by Denis on May 28, 2012 at 8:21pm Just wondering whether the broadcast messaging system has really been fixed. I have just sent out a broadcast message now and I am not seeing any signs it has been received.

Permalink Reply by Denis on May 28, 2012 at 11:24pm Okay. It's done Eric. Thanks.
Let's see if it works now.
Do I resend the broadcast message I sent out earlier today or just wait and the one I sent earlier will be delivered?
Permalink Reply by Rev. O.M. Bastet on May 28, 2012 at 9:55pm Our network is one of those affected for days now. Notifications of all kinds of activity either arrive late, or don't arrive at all.
Also, comment posts in one blog at least are showing up out of order, changing order, and some are disappearing.
Also, the internal messaging system is dropping messages, it appears.
I get so discouraged trying to get help from Ning by putting in a ticket because they always seem to want screenshots and specific documentation. That is quite difficult sometimes, yet the problems are real and Ning is aware of them.
Anyway, we are a private (but not invisible) network: anewgaia.ning.com -- and I hope these glitches get fixed soon. My members are not freaking out by any means, but the notifications thing has gone on for a long time now, and some are getting impatient.
I am TRYING to get someone to give me specifics, but so far, no one has come up with anything, and I find it difficult to catch the instances I experience. It would take a lot more of my attention than I am willing to give, as I believe this will get fixed with or without my input to Ning, LOL. The folks complaining are not techy enough to give me documentation, unfortunately!!!!
Permalink Reply by Rev. O.M. Bastet on May 28, 2012 at 10:01pm Here is a specific. This discussion was started "2 hours ago" according to the LA list (it is now 10 PM PT) and no notification has been received yet by the NC, whose group it is in, and who always receives such notifications.

Permalink Reply by Rev. O.M. Bastet on May 28, 2012 at 10:40pm Yes, I will do that, and then I will field the complaints from members who start to receive individual notifs instead of their daily digest. Right?
So this is a workaround, and not a fix, right?
And bless your sweet soul for being on this stuff the night of a holiday!!!
