I didn't receive email for 9 hours. Did you?
I did some tests: the emails I send are not arriving. Emails are delayed in their routing I guess.

Your email settings look to be set up correctly, but with regards to forum discussions, you don't appear to be following them. Have you put your Ning address in one or two of your gmail address books to see if those get delivered when others don't? That would be telling.
