The most important action a member can take is signing up or signing in. If a member can't do that, they won't be able to do anything on your Ning Network.

It's natural, then, that you should want to help anyone who has run into problems signing up or signing in. Now, you can do just that.

We've added a new contact form to the "Problems Signing In" page, as you can see below or here on Creators. Members who are having trouble signing up or signing in can use this form to contact your Ning Network's administrators to let them know.

Administrators and Network Creators who have not turned off "Feedback and Problem Reports" emails will receive a notification when a member uses the form. They can then assist the member directly via email.

Members today can email administrators via the "Report an Issue" link in the footer of your Ning Network, but they have to be signed in to the network to access the form. Now, members can contact you even if they can't sign in.

In our effort to emphasize Network Creator choice, we've left this contact form hidden on all existing Ning Networks. To enable it, simply click the new "My Network" tab, and then "Members". Click "Controls" and enable the option to "Allow members to report login problems."

Hey Amy!

I've you've ever used the Tab Manager before, that typically 'locks in' your tab names, meaning that they wouldn't have changed with this release.

Hi Evan - not exactly sure what you mean about "using the Tab Manager" before. I haven't ever changed the "Manage" tab ever...it has always been there at the end of my tabs. Both of my networks are private - and non profit - I say this to explain I am not a professional creator so I don't use many of the tools provided or change them much - However, my other network - I have done the same things with it that I did on the network where I still have the manage button, but it does have the My Network instead. So not sure it has anything to do with me. I was just waiting to see if it switches eventually - not really a problem except that same network does not allow me to add my customized background and header simultaneously. (I have filed a help ticket on that). Anyway, just my explanation. I am one of those people that doesn't do much "outside" the box since my sites are both very small and private. (And almost all my members are over the age of 58! hahah - with little computer knowledge) Both my networks are now Plus plan - fyi

Evan, what I interpret as what you said doesn't match my experience. In the Network which now displays My Network tab, I am in person-member an admin, and as a team with a single Member ID, the Network Creator. We did and I did plenty of tab managing activity before the change to Plus, and now I as admin see Manage, and the team as Creator sees My Network.

I'm confooozed, but also since both tabs work as they should, I am merely curious, I myself don't need any info.
Hi ~ So, how do we help members who can not even log in? I have a member who emailed me to tell me that since the change, she is not able to even log in to our site. When the sign in page appears, her computer locks up and the mouse doesn't move for her to be able to insert her log in information.

I also been in contact with one member who can't sign in and he happens to be my admin helper. LOL. He says he clicked the problem with log in section and is unable to do anything with it. If I had a function where I could reset someone's log-in it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Sent a help form out concerning my member who can't log in over a week ago, still no feedback.
He tried resetting his password and it didn't work. He also tried the "problems signing in link", filled out the information, but when he tried to send it he got an "internet cannot display the page" message.

Also, even if this function works, how do I fix the problem once I know a person can't log in? That is not explained in this post.

A lot of network creators I imagine are like me. Chose NING because it is easy to set up even with a great lack of computer skills. I feel that log-in issues take a bit more than basic computer knowledge to handle and NING should respond personally with professional help to each person having log-in issues.

What's happening here is that the member won't see the form until they actually complete one unsuccessful attempt at signing up or signing in. Once that happens, a message appears asking if the member needs assistance, and it links to your new form.
