Since adding the Like Feature to Ning Labs in February, we've studied closely how Ning Creators are using it on their social sites. What we've found is exciting: 12,000 Ning Creators have already replaced the Favorite and Rate features with the Like Button, and they are seeing great results. Here's how this change has increased member engagement:
Engagement = Number of times content is Rated, Favorited, or Liked
We're excited to report that later today, we will be taking the Like Feature out of Ning Labs.
We've spent the last several weeks making a series of improvements, including:
Haven't turned it on yet? It’s easy. When you sign in later today, you’ll see a simple message that prompts you activate the Like Button. Choose which features you want to enable. You can make changes anytime, and we encourage you to experiment with different features to see what works best for you. We've set you up with the option to send a Broadcast Message to your members to let them know about this new feature (if you choose).
We've also updated the algorithm for Leaderboards to include Like Button activity. This ensures that the Leaderboards will reflect and surface the latest, greatest content and trends on your Ning Network.
Events as well, why like an event when its "here for people who like an event" and as for groups, its the same thing.
That's what I'm talking about! LIKE button on top of the group is just a waste of space.
Now give me LIKE in discussion or comment boxes.
I agree to you Ross, I also would like Ning to update the features you have suggested. And no work of LIKE button on groups.
What I wanna suggest is that there is an ugly line of white beside Facebook LIKE botton. As Facebook LIKE is enable in our network, this line become messy. Hope it get fixed soon.
I'm struggling to understand here, in my site I don't have even the LIKE button in my thread.
I wonder if is only functioning on FORUM thread and not group threads?
I've disabled the forum in my site, they both work the same, there was no need of having groups and forum at the same time.
i would suggest to use the thumb up and thumb down for posts replies
that would be a nice count if members are like or not your comment
My Facebook share feature (next to Twitter) disappeared after receiving your LIKE ANNOUNCEMENT this morning. After posting, I usually hit the share buttons on Twitter & Facebook which would automatically show up on my facebook fan page. It's not working....please help. I've already checked it out at the dashboard to make sure the fan page was the designated place and it is......... :(
Hi, Mike and Narda. This is not a glitch. I believe this works as intended. A few details to consider:
If I have any of that wrong, we'll try to clarify, but basically Facebook Like and Facebook Share are not designed to deposit content to the same location.
