Hi,

I have a network for freelancers and contractors who work in the UK Event Production industry and have recently had a number of recruiters join.

I want the site to remain free for all contractors and freelancers, but want to find a way of charging for recruiters either to be a member or to post job ads.

Members currently post ads in the forum under the Category "Looking for people".

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Join jobthread and set up your own board. Make jobs free, or include them in advertising packages, to get it started and slowly introduce fees for posting jobs. You can set up coupons to let individual recruiters post jobs for free or set all jobs to free initially. Check out my site to see it action

Thanks for that, sounds like it could work.  What's your site address?

Assume you are set up as a Publisher...

it's here

Thats great, thanks.  Really useful to see how other people do things.

How did you do the rich content boxes at the top and the bottom?  Were these written in HTML?  Also how did you get the ads on the right-hand side?

I have been working with the built-in features but haven't yet properly started with HTML!

Hope you don't mind all the questions

The slider is here and the nav at the bottom is just html using the text box in the footer ad area that you can implement in your dashboard. The ads to the right are also just a text box with images and urls inserted.

Thanks for that.  Have set up Jobthread, and already got my first post!

Will look at the slider at some point soon

Cheers

Nice. Let me know how it goes in a few weeks :-)
