Hi,

I like to add an "paid-online-learning-platform" feature to my ning.

It should be possiblw to design the whole course stey by step in advance and set the date when a certain lesson is available by email. The payment function must meet all the tax requirements of the EC and Austria which means when a members registers for a course he/she is forwarded to  paypal / creditcard options and gets an invoice, welcome mail...

The online course should provide a closed group where after each lesson there is room for a commenting... i tried ruzuku.com, this online-tool would work perfectly with one problem - the payment is only available in $ (I need €) and there is no possiblity to integrate it easily in my ning.

Who knows tools to integrate these functions into my ning or could do the programming?

I imagine the biggest problem you are going to run into trying to do something like this will be SSO (single sign-on).

I imagine any of these systems will require user accounts, you will want to have your user log into your Ning network and be automatically logged into your online course system as well to seamlessly integrate the two pieces.

You can set up the online learning platform on a separate server and iframe them into blank pages on your ning network to integrate the course work with your network, but for the single sign-on you will need to authenticate your users on the external site and then pass the creds to ning for login. Not impossible, but not the cleanest way of doing it since Ning's API doesn't support verifying the status of a user being logged in or not.

I can't recommend a specific system for the learning platform, but once you find one, I can help you integrate it with your network if you'd like.

I was thinking about a paid group, or many paid group (one for each topic).

What do you think about it?
