Hi All,
I have a ebook that is helps people with a particular medical condition. I signed up for Ning to be able to have a forum to discuss the 'protocol' in my book. The forum is private and I want to keep it private.
My problem is that when I signed up, I didn't realize that the invitation links for the private forum expire. So, now, I have to edit my ebook and put new links to the forum in so that people can join. I would like to keep the forum available to people and I believe that it adds value to my book and adds value to my advertising of the book giving people a way to ask me questions and clarify points. The forum has been good for that and I want to keep it.
HOWEVER, this link issue is really too big a pain for me to continue having to edit and reupload my book all the time and send people the link in the mail once the link has expired.
Is there any possibility that a 'perma link' can be created for the forums that I can put in my book that will be good indefinitely? Or does anyone have some other solution that can be used to solve this problem, ie: automatically generated links that will get auto sent to anyone who buys my book without me having to manually send it to them?? My book purchasing and delivery is completely automatic- except for this ONE glitch.
Would appreciate any ideas.
And no, I don't want to enter their emails in manually into the invitation portion of the forum. I'm looking for an automatic solution that requires no manual input that can be activated upon their purchase of the book or put as a permanent link inside the book.
Thank you,

just wondering where do you get the forum invitation link? I might have a tricky solution for you drop me a message if you are interested.
Permalink Reply by Kerri on May 6, 2012 at 6:17am i get the invitation link when i sign in. since it,s a private group, i have a tab that says invitation. whenever i go to it, it ill randomly denerate a new link that will expire in 3 months if put as a hard link like in my ebook, or expire as soon as its used once if put into an email. i can also put emils into a box, and it will send invites via email to ech address i put in the box. at ths point, i get everyone's email who buys the book, but i'll soon be offering it on amazon and that will not be the case anymore.
if they make the link last 3 months, i cant see why they cant make one that lasts indfinitely, but i've asked them and they've just turned me down. not enough need apparently.
i'll entertain any ideas.
