We at Mind's Eye wish to control how our photo's are displayed on the main page. We are a artistic site with many talented artist. Each day our artist post their work but at the same time members post their personal pictures. Many of these picture over run the slideshow and wipe out the recent art posted by members. My question is as follows:
What can we do to control this so that maybe our members artwork ends up on the main page. The object is to showcase there work, for many reasons...mainly because we want members to see their art. Once the 100 pictures have been posted, our members only know of that 100. It would be nice to catagories pictures...Suggestions are welcome...
hugs to all in this holiday season

For example, if you have a category like member's art work, all your members needs to do is to add their art work under this category, then you simply let it show on the main pageslide. I hope this helps, if not why not send in a ticket to the ning teams.
Thanks Andy. Although I wasn't aware of categorizes in photo...I'll check into it.

Ralphy,
I'm not quite sure what Andy is referring to on Categories, maybe albums or tags? Of course the easiest way is to "feature" photos, and select "featured" from the photo module drop-down menu, on the home page. If for some reason you need 2 photo slideshows or thumbnails showing on home page: this is how I do it. You create a photo album under your account. Each time you want to add a new image, you gotta add the image to your album. I may not remember all the steps by memory, been a while. I used this a lot on my pet site.
If I left out critical steps, let me know.
Hope that helps,
Jen
You know after you spoke of the featured I felt a little silly. I'm always deep into thought of code this and code that I sometime don't see the obvious. The feature should do the trick, and then I don't have to limit the number of photos. You know what I say...can't get much better than Jen's Social when you need advice.

Seriously Ralphy, on the featured, don't feel silly. I've been guilty of this my entire life - - so deep in thought, missing the simple and obvious. ;-) Thanks for the words of support.
