We will be performing maintenance on the Ning Platform this coming Friday, December 2nd, from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. (Midnight) Pacific Time. During this time, all Ning Networks will be unavailable.
We’re proud to have been able to realize a consistently high uptime over the past year. To keep this consistent record high, we need to perform some crucial upgrades to hardware, systems and databases. We want to ensure your Ning Network stays online and speedy for the next year and beyond.
What will happen?
Tell your members!
We recommend advising your members of this downtime in advance via a broadcast message and/or other notices on your Main Page. We’ve put together some boilerplate language you can use for messaging by simply copying and pasting. Or, tailor it for your members. We’ve included a few options here for you: one formal and one a bit more informal:
We know that maintenance like this can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience while we perform it.

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on November 29, 2011 at 11:39pm Thanks, Ceddy! We made some massive strides in the last year with uptime. Believe me, we're just as happy as you are about that.

Hey Debbie!
We sent out an email last night to all NCs, subject line: Ning Planned Maintenance Friday 10-Midnight Pacific Time. You may want to make sure we're whitelisted (@ning.com) in your email provider so our messages are sure to reach you.
Thanks!

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on November 30, 2011 at 3:24pm I guess check your spam folder. If you've unsubscribed, that could be an issue.
Thanks Eric. DOmenica
Thanks Eric
will this bring us a step closer to getting the new chatroom?
The new chatroom is the most important and pressing issue for the success of my network so I realy hope this wont be delayed much longer.
regards
Mark
Hi Mark,
This maintenance is unrelated to the new chat, but the updated chat is available to all networks now via the Ning Labs section of your Manage dashboard.

Permalink Reply by soaringeagle on December 1, 2011 at 7:29pm question: the new beta 2 chat does load faster but my sites still quit slow compared to normal i switched back to old chat and stuill slow
is my sites slowness related to this and will it improve i hope
i worked hard on speeding it up and now its real slow
i know it could be slow cause of an external widget being slower then normal but to me it seems that api.ning and the chat server are stuill whats slowing it the most
