OK, I've been stumped by this one for quite a while now but am just getting around now to posting about it here.

In redoing my network recently, I revisited the network Music Player that appears on our main page. When I click the "edit" button and look at my choices for what to have it play, I see a couple of selections under "Play" that confuse me: Playlist and Featured

First, Playlist. What is it? Where can I (or anyone) create a playlist, and from what? Note that this is listed separate from Podcast, so it's not for plugging in a podcast RSS feed, nor does it appear to be in some way, shape or form connected to the music that network members have uploaded to their pages. When I click "Playlist" next to "Play" under "Edit" and then click the "Save" button, the Music Player goes away! It's no longer displaying the player or any music or anything. So there MUST be a way for me to set a playlist of songs for the player, but how do I do that?

Second, Featured. OK, there must also be a way for me to "feature" certain songs on my network so that they will appear in the "Featured" selection for the "Play" option of the Music Player, but I have no idea how this is done, either. When I view any member's Music Player on their profiles, all I am allowed to do is play the songs in the player. There is no "feature" option next to any of these songs. Or is this done elsewhere? Otherwise, what is the point of having "Featured" as a Play option on our network music players?

Thanks!

No replies, really? Can't someone from Ning investigate this? Hello...? I mean, it's right there in the music players. How are we supposed to use those player functions???

Hey Kopper, the answer to most of these can be found in our Music Player Help Center articles. I'll run down your questions though just in case:

- The Main Page music player can have it's own playlist. As the Network Creator you can upload music to it just like your members can to the music player on their profile pages. Any collection of songs uploaded to a Music Player is a playlist.

- You can feature songs just like other content. Third image down on this Help Center article shows you how to do it in the Music Player. If you set the Main Page Music Player to play featured music it'll play the songs you've featured (just like setting the Main Page Videos module to display featured videos).

- The Music Player isn't supposed to go away when you click Save. Could be a javascript and/or browser issue. Create a ticket for us, include a screenshot and we'll take a look.

- You can feature any member's song.

Did I miss anything?
