I am planning to develop a system to record data about visitors to a Ning network.
Initially, the application would work as a commercial plugin and store information such as Ning ID, IP address, user name, name of the visited page, url of page visited, date and time of visit. (from a specific member)
However, I need to know some things.
1. Is this permitted by the rules of Ning?
2. As a Ning creator, would you be willing to use this service on your network?
3. How much are you willing to pay monthly for this service?
4. What other features and functions you would like to see in an application like this?
Demo Version:
Include these two lines in your network tracking code:
http://YOURNETWORK/main/admin/tracking
<script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.5.js"></script>
<script src="http://www.marcelocamargo.com.br/NingUserData.js"></script>
Access this Spreadsheet to see the log:
(all networks using this demo will be showed in this same spreadsheet)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsCTypvknDfmdDRnU1VVcH...
It´s only for test and demonstration!

Intersting. Very interesting !
What about making a widget on profile pages that will tell who visited your profile page.
But.......... To use it and to get the names & links, a member has to pay 5$ per year !
2,5$ for me.... 2,5$ for you... :-)
We'll get rich ! ;-)
(I used to have a SocialGo network and people were using http://my.socialgo.com/widget-store/widget/wl-visitorradar. A lot of members tells me that they really miss this pluggin !)
One more brilliant idea!
Thanks...

Permalink Reply by M.Tariq Malik on June 6, 2012 at 8:47am Marcelo Camargo When I installed your given script, your script removed the Top search bar & sing up & sing in at my network (www.vustudents.ning.com). When I removed your script from my network then all is fine... Please do needful action for this.. you can see the screen shot below
With your installed script & used site without sing in is working fine. Problem just with registered Members.
Thanks for information.
It will be fixed.
