Is it possible to create sub-tabs under sub-tabs?

For instance, could you have...

Main Tab: Pets

Sub-Tab: --Dogs

Sub Under Sub ----Poodles

Sub Under Sub----Yorkies

Sub-Tab: --Cats

If it's not possible to create sub-tabs under sub-tabs, does anyone have any ideas or workarounds?

Yup. We can always use our custom code box for extra codes.

Thank you, Vaqz.

a) Is that code readily available, or do I need to hire a programmer to write that code?

b) what's the maximum number of sub-tabs allowable under a main tab?

c) can code be written so sub-tabs open to additional sub-tabs when they're clicked?  For instance ...

RADIO SHOWS AND HOSTS (main tab)

--Week at a Glance (sub-tab)

--Monday's Shows (sub-tab)  (CLICK it to open more sub-tabs under Monday's Shows)

----SHOW NAME X

----SHOW NAME XX

----SHOW NAME XXXX

--Tuesday's Shows (sub-tab under main tab)

----SHOW NAME XXXX

Hi kay, sorry but this is not available as a drag and drop feature you may need to hire someone to write the code for you and utilize the custom code box. But if you aren't in a hurry I will try to help. Only 10 sub-tabs is allowed per main tab but "sub-sub-tabs" which is your request will be unlimited I think. "sub-sub-tabs" will show up beside (to the right) the sub-tab when clicked. In your case when Monday's Shows is click the "sub-sub-tabs" will show up to the right. Hope that make sense.

That makes perfect sense; I understand completely.  I'm not in a hurry per se, but I would like to get it worked out in the foreseeable future. Are you contemplating this as an official Ning rep; i.e., upgrading Ning to make this possible to all creators?  If so, approximately what's the wait time for implementation of something like this?  Thank you!

Hi Kay,

I have a very similar need for sub-sub-tabs. Did you ever learn how to do this?

Thanks,

Renee

You could create a tab for Dogs that goes to a page, then add all your sub-groups as links from that page. I used a similar method to create sub-groups. If you feel creative, you could have each link be an thumbnail image of the dog type.

Kay,

Here's a work-around. I created a sub-tab under forums (e.g., Energy). I then went back under Settings/Tabs and changed the Energy forum to a page format by deleting the URL and selecting "Create New Page." Energy continues to be a sub-tab under Forums, but it's now a page and not a forum. I then created additional forum categories under Settings/Features/Forum (e.g., Energy: Solar, Energy: Biofuel) They appear on the main Forums page. I selected the category (e.g., Energy: Solar) from the main Forum tab/page. Then I copied the URL for the page. I went to the Energy page I had created and created a link using the URL to Energy: Solar. Now when I select the sub-tab Energy under Forums, I go to a page with a number of links on it that take me to the specfic sub-forums under Energy.
