Potential members trying to sign up cannot get their passwords accepted and I don't understand how that can happen, so I took their email address and tried to sign up with it myself and this is what I got, over and over and over again. It didn't matter what I put in for a password it still wouldn't accept it!

They are not even a member yet so how can their password be incorrect or be reset?

Hi Fed,

They should try doing a password reset. There is still a bit of heavy lifting to be done in terms of creating completely separate accounts on all networks and I suspect what's happening is that they already have an account with this email address on another Ning network.

Hi Phil we are having the same issue with some new members and that's what I assumed they must belong to some other network but when trying the password reset we only got "There is no account with the email address"
Is there any update here? We're getting a few reports of this each day ... and telling them to do a password reset on a network they didn't join in the first place is a little confusing.

A potential member has also reported this issue, I have tried to sign up on their behalf and I get an incorrect password error, when I try resetting the password, I get a message saying a profile does not exist for that email address, I will open a helpdesk ticket but wondered if anyone can shed any light on this. I will send them an invitation to see if that will circumvent the issue
Turns out it was user error, the new member was giving the wrong answer to the quiz question, I amended the question slightly to make it clearer which answer I was looking for and she was able to sign up OK.
not to be rude but was it also user error when you tried to sign up on their behalf as well?

So far this month we have about 10 reported sign-up/sign-in issues, wonder how many people aren't reporting the issue and walking away.
Fair comment, it was 2am my time when I was trying to replicate the problem so it could have been user error by me too ;0) but I had another member join up a few hours before without any problems so the only thing I could track it to was the incorrect quiz answer....sorry if I have misled anyone, I was only trying to help.

Hey everyone, got a message from Ning that they are continuing to work on a fix for this and it should be pushed live in the next week or two.
