Hi all,
I'm trying to set up a private group but confused by the behavior with activity feeds.
I have a public Ning site. Inside this, I created a private group. When I look at the group from a not-logged-in browser, the group page says I must be invited. So far so good.
Then in my logged-in browser, I make a discussion post inside the group. This post then shows up the activity feed - *even for my not-logged-in browser*.
Obviously a private group isn't private if the title of the forum post shows up to random users.
Is there any way I can fix this, aside from hiding my activity feed? thanks!

Obviously, when you're signed in as the Network Creator, you can often see more content than regular members, but it sounds like you're saying you viewed the content on a different browser when not signed in. These privacy settings work fine for me, but we always want to know if there could be an issue that we're not aware of.
Permalink Reply by dylan hassinger on November 19, 2011 at 9:05pm My apologies, I did find the setting to fix this.
I had originally thought that by selecting the "Only invited members" under "Members" would make my group private. Upon searching more, I noticed the Privacy Settings panel, which did indeed hide my group from the activity feed.
feels like maybe these settings could consolidated somehow. But it's working for me now, thanks!
