Thanks I will check it

There's definitely a bug with the text editor. It seems to manifest itself with some sort of delinkage between the visual and html editors. I can edit on visual just fine, but when I flick to html and then back again to visual , the formatting - line breaks, paras etc in particular - has gone haywire.

It's VERY FRUSTRATING. I had this with message broadcast last night and this morning with the forum.

Yeah its frustrating I hope Ning team sorts it out for all of us

I'm experiencing a lot of frustrating issues too.

You do not even need to click the save button: you just write some html code in html mode, switch to wysiwyg mode and then back to html mode again, and your code will get mangled in a variety of suprising ways!

For instance:

you write

<p>test1 <strong>test2</strong></p>

and you get

<p>test1
<strong>test2</strong></p>

(note: it's not equivalent as it may seem, the blank space is actually lost and test1 and test2 are adjacent, which is not what I wanted)

you write

<p>STAFF</p>
<p><strong>Giuseppe</strong></p>

and you get

<p>STAFF
<strong>Giuseppe</strong></p>

you write

<div>
test
</div>
<div>
test
</div>

and you get

<div><br />
test
</div>
<p>
</p>
<div><br />
test
</div>

and so on.

I'm completely lost...

Wouldn't it be much better to have a "pure" html editor, which respects the html code that is written into it and does not try to help out so creatively?

I sent a ticket to Ning, we will see...

Has someone submitted this ugly, ugly bug?

Ive been opening up the HTML View and pasting in HTML messages. The editor is changing the code, breaking the formatting and making a whole lot of work with inserting <p> and </br> where they didn't exist before. Its simply horrible and turning what used to be a 10 second task into a tedious task.

Yes, I did. But the outcome was not really satisfying as you are noticing yourself now.

Me too. Waiting for the answer.

Me, too.

Also having trouble with spaces that disappear before <em> or <strong> tags.

Hello, Ning?

The answer is that they are well aware of the issue and working on it.

They pointed to me to this "official" discussion for the bug: http://creators.ning.com/forum/topics/i-m-having-a-tough-time-editi...

Eric is providing updates in that discussion.

Me too
