Hello,
I have a dilemma that I hope you can help me with. I'm thinking about making a custom homepage, so that users immediately see a drop down menu and can access the paid directory on my site. The paid directory section of my site can be found at: http://www.bridaltweet.com/page/preferred-wedding-vendors.
As I see it, here are the pros and cons:
Cons: My community gets between 20-30K unique visitors per month - a lot of that comes from Google. So, I'm reluctant to mess with my homepage.
Pros:
1. My community gets between 20-30K unique visitors per month. Directing users to the paid directory on my site would make my advertisers happier. My ads (aka listings) would become more effective and I'd be able to sell more ads.
2. This would simplify my site overall. The homepage is currently overwhelming.
What are your thoughts? This would be a huge change for my site, which has been in existence for almost 4 years. If I do make this change, I need to make sure it is the right decision.
Thanks,
Christine
