How do creators feel about the uses of ning in our schools? Have you thought of the potential? I have spent this last school year doing just that in my English classroom and among the staff in my school. There is such a rich opportunity for our students as they learn how to appropriately establish their web presence through collaborative writing and discussion. I believe this has been the riches experience I have offered my students in my entire 13 years of teaching.
I'm unsure that this community has been keeping pace with the economics of the public schools system, but money is becoming less and less available for classroom use. Budgets are tight. Funds cover the basic expenses.
To continue receiving the outstanding networking I have established this year for my students' learning, I need to find $499.95. I use the vast majority of the features throughout the year with my students. As a result they are getting a rich, diverse educational experience. My first dilemma is that budgets were established months ago; that money is not in our budget. My second dilemma is that I cannot use ads to generate income from my ning, since this is unacceptable for administrators and parents alike. What am I left with?
My students are future "Ningers." Several have established their own networks in the short time they have worked with Ning as a result of my classroom work with them. The experience I offer them in my class will generate income in the future for Ning as they enter jobs or establish family networks of their own.
Is it feasible for Ning to offer grants or various Premium features to teachers that are dedicated to the daily integration of their ning in classes? This could be a mutually beneficial relationship for schools and Ning.
