I had a problem the other day which turned out to not be a problem. Well not really. I've made adjustments to my network several times over the past year, finally settling on the one I presently have. However, I noticed the last two times I made changes, the old customization was still there on members pages who haven't customized their pages. Amanda from the Ning Help Center pointed me to controls I never knew existed: "Reset your My Page theme to the network default". I reset my profile page, but now there are members who now have the old customization on their profiles. I really don't want to have to send out a broadcast message asking them to jump through hoops to reset their pages, is there no way for network creators to do this for the whole network? I thought of configuring my settings to disallow member customization, then allowing again. The problem is I don't know if this will wipe out the customization of members who chose to customize their pages.

Like I said earlier, I'm full of questions today.

Thanks.

I too would be interested to know this. If they can all be reset somehow that will help with a decision I am trying to make.

I know this is late but I guess all great creators think alike and go through some of the same changes! LOL I see now why facebook just now allowed members to add a "cover phooto" to their profiles, its keeps uniformity on the site. Its cool to see creativity and different styled pages but it gets to be a bit much and I wanted not really for all the profiles to look the same but I had trouble implementing another tip and couldnt because of the customization options I had setup so I went through my settings and heres what I did to rest all the profiles to default

Go to your network settings and click "controls" under the "members" section

where it says "my page permissions" none of those boxes should be checked, leave them all unchecked, the only one I checked off was "allow members to adjust their page layout" which ultimately is enough customization your members really need. But hit save and go check out a few profiles on your network, everyone should be in uniform then!

sorry for the late response but I just learned this this morning as I was looking to do the same and had to figure it out myself lol. hope this helps guys!

oh my-we allow our members to "decorate" keeps them engaged..also added the Ning music player

Armani you're going to lose members including me I have no customized profile anymore :-(
