I'm not normally one to publicly bemoan a lack of progress here on Ning but checking out the roadmap today left me a little depressed. There are really only three or four things on it, two of which (blog and third party commenting) have been on for a year, and one (ning ads) was announced not long ago at the seeming development expense of things that were promised a while back (blog and third party commenting).
I know there have been minor updates and that some of what I have listed are major redevelopments but this is the first time I've felt cause to highlight the perceived sense of stagnation that I'm feeling.
Is there some cheer you can bring me, Ning?

Not sure to be honest.
Have you tried disabling all the Yahoo scripts and styles?

But now everything is upside down after Glam took over. if you take look what Glam did since they took over, then you will know what they up too:
* New mobile web version (you can't run your own ad, but you can run their ad(glam ad)
* VIP subscription service plan ($1,000 monthly) (link)
* No more Mini subscriptions plan
I don't really know whats next for us anymore!

Permalink Reply by doone on November 14, 2012 at 7:15am I too have seen the network get scrambled in the past few weeks but then I have adding a lot of CSS code and code in the Custom Code box. I have found that closing my site in Chrome, clearing the cache and then reopening it fixed the problem about 90 percent of the time.
A few times it did not work so I went to Firefox and once to IE9 to get back into Design Studio. Chrome seems more of a problem than Firefox as far as 'scrambling' goes - scrambling for me is a very white and blue look to my network. I have never lost my code in the CSS box but I have moved most of it to a CSS file as I was up to the 15,000 limit.
Permalink Reply by Jordon McGee (Jords) on November 14, 2012 at 7:41am It seems Ning has come to a development standstill, or at least from our perception. Hopefully its just bad communication between Ning and NC's in relation to why development is taking so long on upcoming features.
My hopeful thoughts is that Ning is busy developing behind the scenes. My pessimistic thoughts is that it seems like Ning is imploding. I like Ning so I'm sticking with the hopeful right now. Although if Ning has no major developments by end of November I will be extremely concerned. My small team is going to launch a network in January and hope Ning has many of the bugs straightened out and features released before this time.
Overall, I think if Ning would just be more transparent on why the core development has been slow lately that would relieve NC's a lot. Though, I understand if customer support and Eric's hands are tied on releasing information about feature developments. Used to be a customer service agent and it sucked sometimes being in the know and taking the brunt of things while not being able to elaborate on the product you have a passion for. Kudos to Eric and support for taking the brunt of everything!
Hopefully, Ning will be able to release some updated information on the situation or a major release soon!
Cheerio,
Jords

Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on November 14, 2012 at 8:49am I beg to differ, ismail: We're still answering your questions. I answered a thread right before I went to bed last night, and I will be answering a ton more today.
We're still building things and will have lots of new things for you in the coming months that will be very exciting. Some of you are eagle eyes when it comes to watching every move we make. Let's just say we've had our heads down and are working very hard on some new things.
if Ning would just be more transparent...
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Nobody — and I mean nobody — publishes a public product roadmap like we do. However, there has to be a limit to transparency at some point.
I know that those who watch Creators closely are disappointed when there isn't a steady stream of product releases. I promise you I will vocalize all of your dissent to our product and executive teams. And I hope you'll stay tuned for some great new things.
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on November 14, 2012 at 11:37am In the two years since you joined Creators, ismail, you've consistently shown a disdain for everything we do (that is, when you're not posting messages that we need to help you URGENTLY). I'm not surprised to see you getting into the business of illustrating it more colorfully.
Permalink Reply by ismail shah on November 14, 2012 at 11:43am Ohh Eric Sorry, If you mind this,
I Only joined Creator to Resolve problems which m facing on my network. NO DISDAIN. don't Take it wrong.
Crtisize on Imp Issues help NING in Creativity as far i think .
Sorry again if you mind this.i not here to hurt someone. M tensed due to continues Problems. Nothing else.
Thanks Eric

Ismail, Seriously? How could you say you have no disdain? You went as far as customizing an image depicting Ning Support sleeping.

It's none of my biz. But, I will defend Ning on this one. They may not have a publicly visible rodeo holding roadmap. But, they do deserve much more respect than you have shown in this thread. And, Ning Support has nothing to do with Development.
Just my thoughts,
Jen
