S4N is jacking up my Manage Area ...HELP

Ok I ran some tests... and it seems S4N is causing this issue... When I deactivated S4N the error went away ... and my manage area was back to normal ... SO what can Ning do to fix this... ?

I'm not seeing this on the networks that we use to test S4N changes, so I'm wondering if it's a combination of S4N and perhaps some other customizations you've made via analytics or css?

When I deactivate S4N the error went away ... So it has to be S4N.. other Nc's who have S4N are experiencing this too ...

Hi Phil,
Robert and I have discussed this, so I started investigating. When I deactivate S4N, the errors go away. I will attach screen shots of both S4N activated and deactivated. This is only happening in IE for me.

Ah gotcha. Thanks Jen, I didn't test in IE; presumably it doesn't happen in other browsers.

My pleasure. This isn't to say that a combo of our CSS and S4N, and/or Analytics isn't causing it. I don't know. I did do this test. I removed all CSS. But, I forgot to remove S4N at the same time. Anyhow, with just my CSS removed, the same errors occur in IE. If you need me to remove CSS, S4N and Analytics at same time, I will. I'll have time later tonight. I need to make sure I don't make any mistakes, removing that much code. ;-)

I am having the same issue in Chrome. I've yet to check other browsers, will do so now and disable S4N. I wonder if this is also be causing two of my tabs to not show.

Give me your link, and I'll see if I can catch why your 2 tabs aren't showing. Be sure to say what tabs and where.

Also, I don't think it's necessary to deactivate S4N, if it's just causing an issue under Manage Admin. The panel should still work, just a little confusing.

Hmm, seems I miscounted. Three of my tabs are missing. Invite, My Page and Members (sub-tab to My Page). I can't recall if there ever was a My Friends tab, if so, then that makes four missing tabs. Now that I think on it, I had a problem setting up my tabs my first day back. I couldn't move them where I wanted. Sheesh! Whatta headache!

And shouldn't there be a Create Your Own Network at the top left of the page? That's gone too.

Hi Thunder-X,
When I remove all custom CSS, I see a tab (2nd from left) for "Self" (My Page), and "kin" under it, for all members. So, it has something to do with special CSS you added. I can't remember if invite shows when I'm signed out, so that one is still a mystery.

This may not sound appealing to you, but I would suggest removing all special CSS, select a nice built-in Ning theme, and start over fresh and clean.

I believe there is still a built-in theme that contains the shiny header for xg_module_head.

BTW, Create a Ning Network comes back, as well.

Waaaaaaahhhhhhhh! I have to get rid of CSS! :-(
What will I do now? Shiny Ning theme you say? Shiny header? Will give it a shot (like I got a choice). Thank you soooo much, though Jen! I appreciate the assist greatly. When I get things back in order, you'll see me back on The Directory.

So does this mean we can't use custom CSS any more? Must be, because I had that CSS in there for a long time, and this didn't happen.
