Ning served our purpose well initially, but it was finally time to move along. I moved all three of my networks to JamRoom. The product is current, robust, and well-supported. I've actually been blown away by the support.

  • Just a quick heads up when ning "close" your account it stays up as an under maintenance site, I've no idea for how long but it's been a couple of weeks for us.  If you use the google webmaster tools you can delist your site for a few months to stop the old ning site competing with your new one.

    • Thanks for asking. I left due to the lack of feature development for Ning 3.0 and what seemed to be an indefinite halt in completion of the road map originally provided....along with the accompanying communication / progress reports to the creators.  Didn't make sense to think about migrating to 3.0 with less features than my 2.0. My sites were old and obsolete without much hope of getting better....considering the "unsettled" nature of ning's ownership and path. I'm thrilled to have found JamRoom and their amazing support team. Feels good to be part of something that is current and growing.

    I think there is already a lot of feedback here about what service improvments are needed for ning.

    I'm curious- can yougive us a little update on how you are doing now? Please fill us in on your experience since your previous post. Have you decided to stay with JR even though the  new ning owners are responding better than before?
