Hello,

As I understand it, the way photo privacy management is now, a member must make a setting in their privacy options to make ALL of their photos either public or just for their friends.

This is not a very nuanced way of dealing with photo privacy, especially for a dating site like mine (omgsocialclub.com). Why not make each photo have its own privacy setting so members can have public photos they want everyone to see and then private photos just for their friends?

From what I understand from reading around on the internet, this USED to be possible on an earlier version of Ning. Why make the network less customizable for the users? PLEASE bring back this feature as it's absolutely essential (and a potential dealbreaker) for sites like mine.

Feel free to post a reply here or email me directly at chairman@omgsocialclub.com

Best,
Frank

Hello, any comment from the Ning Team on this? Is this really the way we have to manage photo privacy?

Best,
Frank
You should be able to control who sees each pic. Go to the picture ~ Edit ~ the choices are right there. It's there when you first add a description, etc..
Ah! You're right... the feature is hidden though, and the photo must first be published publicly before you can go in and "Edit" it to make it private, which means it will show up on the public photo stream on the home page even if just for a few minutes, which is not ideal if it's an image the user does not want to share with everyone.

Is there no way to select individual privacy settings during photo upload?

Another easy way of managing this would be to have privacy settings for albums, so every photo you put in a certain album is automatically viewable only by your friends.

Is this possible?

Best,
F
