Step 1) create a new middle column text box
Step 2) copy and past the simple slider script into the text box
Step 3) update image file and link locations with your own

In this example I used 500x136 images, but you could make the image height any size, just remember to update the script w/ the new height size.

There are also a few other variables you can control such as speed, slide direction, and weather or not to show the next and previous buttons.

You can also use the code in the Hero Box
for the hero box you'll need to change the height of CSS snippet inside the "Advanced" and the height of the script to match the image size or a few pixie larger depending if you show the buttons

This can all be 100% done using your Ning network with out having to host any files off Ning.

For some reason, the slider STOPPED WORKING after I added a jquery javascript in the analytics box for another jquery feature I need running.

The javascript line I'm talking about is this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js">

</script>

Kris, I use your slider on my sites, but am wondering if there is a simple code to have the ads come up without the slider. So they just appear one after the other?
if you go to the speed setting in the code, lower it to 100. It actually speeds it up and moves very fast. I have mine set up with just a couple internal links in it, see how that spped setting renders. I have plans for it and wanted the code in place. just tossed those two in it so I could see it work. I'd like to figure out how to make it truly loop, like a carousel, rather than going back and starting over (1-2-3 forward to 1-2-3 vs. 1-2-3 go all the way back1-2-3)
Check out my slider on my site.  www.echorisk.com
That is the kind of slider I need. How'd you make it or wheres the tutorial?

Mike how did you do that i been trying to figure it out now for hours. can you try to explain how i can put that same slider on my site step by step. Please LOL.

Hey Lou

I had someone create an administrator panel for me on a seperate site using a Slider program.  It costs me about $25 a year to keep it running, but Its worth it.  I'm not sure what program he used, but it was easy to plug in after he set it up.  I simply inserted an embed code in to a Text box which feeds off of the other site and back in to my Blog postings.  I can go in a format the rate of speed for the slides, the way in which they transition and of course the content Titles and Subtitles.

I'll ask the guy that helped me how he did it or what he used.  Follow up with me later on...

michael,

 just looked, like it myself. like your network too, read a couple articles on it....if you can find out how he did it, i'd like to know as well, i like the fade in/out effect vs. the slider

I'd love to find out how to do that slider as well. Would even be willing to pay your guy...
Got this working! Thank you! :) Quick question, any advice on how to modify the buttons a bit? I'd like to make them a bit smaller and perhaps round with arrows...
Your guess is as good as mine.  I had him set it all up for me. Sorry I can't be much help.  I also found a link that might help as well.  http://www.easingslider.matthewruddy.com/  This is not the guy that helped me, but my guy sent me this link.
Kris I just joined your network.  I'll join yours as well Speed Racer
