I always wanted more options for the subtabs in DS (at least border options). I finally got around to playing around with mine and figured I'd share.
This is what my subtabs looked like before (boring):
Here's some tweaks to give your subtabs some borders, background images and sliding animation (text file). Add it to your Advanced / Custom CSS.
End result:
Use what you want out of it. I suggest you use a small pic & optimize it to keep the size down for response times.
Have fun!
Update:
I threw together some background images & optimized them. Here's a new example of mine.
Save the image you want and upload it to your own site. They are the same colors as the Floating Quick Navigation If you are using that too.

Permalink Reply by Writer Chick {Diane} on March 24, 2012 at 6:04pm I'm getting a tiny "jump" with the page occasionally when I refresh. It has to be this code because I've never seen this before. It doesn't do it every time, though.

Permalink Reply by soaringeagle on March 24, 2012 at 6:12pm actualy thats a bug i reported last week its in the like box

Permalink Reply by Fire-Tech on March 24, 2012 at 11:00pm I noticed that your subtabs jitter a little too when you move around. It should be smooth. I wonder if that's the same problem? Not too noticeable though...

Permalink Reply by soaringeagle on March 24, 2012 at 11:07pm you dont have the google + turned on in the likebox area?
whats your url?

Permalink Reply by Writer Chick {Diane} on March 25, 2012 at 6:37am No, I don't. I have network like and Facebook like. This jump didn't start until I added this subtab code.
But....I did notice that it doesn't occur in Firefox. Only in Chrome. So...once again, Chrome is proving itself to be a buggy pain in the butt. It used to be the best browser around.
