SPAM from costinluis.com/ domain

For the last two days the networks I manage have been getting spam membership submission from emails from this domain costinluis.com.

I did too. It's  bot for sure. Getting tiring. I hate having to set my group to approve all members but no choice right now.

I've set approval on, also James, and captured one before deleting and you're so correct, this is a bot. It's also programmed to use the FaceBook response, but ya gotta luv their fav TV show and the fact that they were born between 2001 and 2022. LOL

They have and continue to hit us 10 times per day all to no avail as they cannot get through. They are wasting hours and hours and this rate they should go broke soon.

Does anyone of you know what the difference is of "decline membership" or "suspend from network" when moderating membership requests.

I'm receiving membership requests from email addresses from " @costinlus.com " ... it's been going on for awhile

now ...  I haven't started with the "approving membership" yet ... I'm hoping that we come up with some other

solution to this ... Perhaps NING can give us the option of "not allowing certain domains (ie costinluis) to register

in a community ... ?

That would not be a total fix for the spam problem ... I had a ton of spam registering in from ' hotmail.com ' a few

months back ...

But it might help with this problem ...

We have been hit now over 100 times look like they are changing domains now. This is taking up way to much time. We need tools to block complete domains.

Yes, that would be awesome. 

Also, when we suspend members for spam - I hope that suspensions are submitted to a database and when say X number of NC report a domain as spam - ning block them.

That would be very logical, I am not sure that management see it that way. These guys are time consuming to battle we do not moderate membership but 3 of us have Notify when a new member joins it triggers an email who ever gets there first deals with it. This last group enters gibiligoop on the information sign up and then post blogs that we do monitor so no harm no foul. The ones that worry me are the ones that join and then proceed to contact members with offers of ..... various services. Maybe we need to put in the sign in security to stop bots.

I'm getting this too, anyone from Ning able to respond? I notice on the Welcome to 2011 blogthat extra spam protection was on the way, and that's great, but we sort of need help on this now. Cheers Ning!
