I rarely complain about having to decline spammer accounts on Ning Networks. It is what it is. But wow, this is crazy. I can barely keep up with this new influx of spammer accounts applying for Ning Networks. I receive at least 2 every hour from several Networks. They all have something about Hairstyle Promos. Anyone else?

Ning, anything we can do about this?

Thanks,
Jen

Okay so I am not alone on this one, thank goodness.

I am getting at least 5-10 a day on each of 2 different networks and its driving me crazy.

They all have the same type of email address so I just automatically delete them now with out even reading.

I am also getting a lot of spam, it started in september. And I just mark them as spam. I approve all members, so no problem for me, just the extra time I need to spend on deleting.

Hopefully they run out of emails, to use in the end :)

I'm having the same issues but not hairstyles I have to check mine are other spammers but yes the other day I had like 4 in about 2 hours

yep gettin pretty bad noticed after i use my Mobile for a while... would like to re-appoint my Moderators, but dont tottally trust them but did put the word out and snapshots on the Main slideshow maybe ill put a big blog on the front even let one hang for while i sent a warning message they just try harder !!!

Spammers go back again today! I am tired of spammers and also my network:(

Yes, Jen, 4 in my site. :(

I am having the same problem.  Not only spammers for Hairstyle promos, but a LOT selling various medications.  Very frustrating to say the least.

Yep me too, Jen. Getting hit like crazy. What's up? I accept them first, then quickly remove for spam. I believe this is the best way? Please enlighten me.

Sylvia, go to your Members Management page and select "Pending" from the drop down menu on the left, then select "Suspend For Spam" from the Select An Action drop down menu on the right.

Never, ever let them in. If they're bots, they can infect your site within a second.

Hi Jen and everyone,

I would like to suggest visiting the Cloudflare site at  Cloudflare.com. First, let me say I don't work for them and I don't get anything for linking this, ...but I've been using the Free service since it was first in Beta and I'm very happy with it. It does more than just protect from spammers and bots-you should check out all the features and apps. I've included some screen shots of different dashboards. As you drill down you can trust or block individual IPs  or even ranges, countries, etc. Here are some views:

You can find the IP address and range with the link to Honeypot.

I use it, James. It hasn't stopped them from attempting to join my network.
