I rarely complain about having to decline spammer accounts on Ning Networks. It is what it is. But wow, this is crazy. I can barely keep up with this new influx of spammer accounts applying for Ning Networks. I receive at least 2 every hour from several Networks. They all have something about Hairstyle Promos. Anyone else?
Ning, anything we can do about this?
Thanks,
Jen

Permalink Reply by Kos on November 10, 2012 at 1:49pm I noticed once I began to select "suspend for spam" rather than just "denied", they slowed down greatly. Down to a crawl now :) [then again I have a small site]
Permalink Reply by Anthony on November 10, 2012 at 8:37pm I'm sick and tired off banning spammer...They sign up, then update their profile and drop the spam link in their profile.
This the trick...The signing up to as many social network they can, drop the link on the profile with the hope that they will build backlinks or get traffic from Google.
These spammer not posting blogs anymore, they dropping links on their own profile. So, if you not looking on their profile, you wont see these spammer.
Permalink Reply by ismail shah on November 10, 2012 at 9:16pm Hello Guys,
Dont Suspend Spammer. Just Shoot them Delete them Becuase They Join our Network and then update their name. Actually these names are Most Popular Keywords. These Spammer Trying to
Sign up
Update Profile by Changing their Name
Populate keywords for SEO
Add some Advertisement in Text box of their Profile including their site links.
So just delete them If you suspend they are still on your network with KEYWORDS .
Permalink Reply by Kos on November 10, 2012 at 9:22pm By suspending them as spam, isn't their content including profile, deleted? That was my understanding.
Permalink Reply by ismail shah on November 10, 2012 at 9:27pm yes, by suspend as Spam they are deleted.. But i prefer Deletion of Profile instead of Marking it as Spam
Permalink Reply by Doug Lowthian on November 11, 2012 at 9:15pm When suspended as spam is chosen there is no profile anymore that I can see. They are gone from visibility on the site. Now if they try to sign up again, will their email be automatically checked against the suspend/spam list and denied before I even see it?
