Spammers Have Returned and [e-mail]

Yes, those stupid spam bots have returned and unless we get proper email address validation on signup, they will continue.

I have seen upwards of 20 new spammers today trying to hit networks that I administer.  How can you spot them?  They use stupid gmail accounts like this  [e-mail]

This is only happening for me on newer ning networks...not my own.  I am going to keep this post updated from here out with the email addresses that are attempting to sign up.  In the comments below, please do the same so that other NCs do not accidentally admits these bots as members to their network.

They seem to all have names with Hair salon and hair related businesses..

UPDATE:  Not more than 3 minutes after posting this i got a new member for approval from the following address

This has been going on for over a month on my site.  I deleted 50 in one day a week ago.

I had these try to get in today, one of them twice, the last time i let them in and immediately went to suspend for spam, nothing since then.

Hey J

What is your procedure for eliminating the spammers? Do you approve them first, then immediately suspend for spam? Or do you suspend for spam immediately. Of course this question only relates to those creators who jury their members.

We have another thread that Jen started regarding the issue and that question is one that a few of us brought up.

If in Doubt, I will Shoot. 

1. In my case if the email address looks like telling me stupid, then I banned without even seening the profile

2. When I received a Request  of a decent email, my First action is to run Google on them. Most of the time if the emails belongs to an spammer he may have already being reported elsewhere.

3. If Google does not give me any Clue, I go and see the Profile. If it makes sense to me, I approved. Otherwise I shoot.

To me Spammers do not give that much headache. BUT I REALLY do not understand why NING says they have a Validation Process in place. Seems to me that they not. I blamed NING not the Spammer because lastly Spammers are out there and you cannot do nothing about it. BUT NING Can and does nothing. That is my feeling.

Forgot to tell that I also screen email with Rapportive.com which is very good at detecting my targets. 

If rapportive tells me the email does not have internet history then I get suspicious.

Just mousing over the email causes rapportive to bring the data associated on networks on that particular email.

After Mousing over with Rapportive, the I run Google over it.

Pretty straight forward and only take seconds.
