Halo Ning Creators, i'm new in Ning, and asked to integrate Ning social platform with my current company website.. the integration is for the member login..
so once i logged in Ning, i just can open my profile (in my company site) automatically, no need for another login..
is that possible? using API? how to do that?
mine is very simple just for login, and the login only take place on ning site, so when member directly open the company site without login, they will be taken to ning site first to login..
and also for member creation is only on NING site..
is there a solution for this
thanks
Jeffry

Similarly, we don't yet offer the ability for you to create new accounts. Right now, this relies on new members creating their own (encrypted) password.

is it also impossible?
Hi Jeffry,
At the moment you can have your members authenticate on the company site using their network credentials and the API, but there isn't a way for them to sign in to the network and have them signed in automatically on an external site.
Thanks,
Phil
Permalink Reply by Jeffry on February 6, 2012 at 6:29pm Phil, you said "i can have members to authenticate on the company site using network credentials" what is that mean? is it mean like i can login to the company site using ning member data? but still need to do a relogin?
please explain, thanks
Hi Jeffry,
You can have your network members authenticate on an external site using their network email address and password. You would collect these in a form on the site and then send them through to the Ning API to ensure they were valid. When you know they are valid you can then set a session cookie and do additional API lookups for synchronizing data between the two systems etc.
