Sub Menu popping out

 I am a member of a website, and I took a nice liking to their sub-menu. I was hoping to have something like it on our community, I like it a lot better than drop down (what I have). 

 Here is what I am speaking about: (before mouse hover) 

 

 After mouse hover: 

 

 When you click on a section of their main menu, this "flash" sub menu comes out, it does say "loading" before all the links show up. I clicked on "My groups" and out came the above. 

 Now I only want to do this to my sub-menu.. not like theirs (as they have "recommended groups" and such).. I just want the sub-menu to drop down as theirs does...

 How difficult would this be to put on a ning site. (Their's is not a ning site).
