subdomain pointing to ning

Is there a way to have a subdomain name forward to my ning site with the subdomain at the end? example sitename.com/subdomain. Not subdomain.sitename.com. I contacted Godaddy and they told me that has to be done thru ning but I can't find any instructions on it.
I already have a website called surfershot.com with lots of content and would like to have "/network" on the end of it to point to surfershot.ning.com. example; "surfershot.com/network/" point to to surfershot.ning.com.

Hi Scott,

Unfortunately it's not technically possible to map your network to a subfolder of another domain. Your only real option is to have it mapped to a subdomain, like community.surfershot.com or my.surfershot.com

Hi, I see that it is possible to map to a subdomain but don't know how to forward subdomain at godaddy to ning.  there is a place to put the a record to point to ning but i cant seem to find a place to point a record to www.my.ning.com??

 

I know there is a way to do this but cant't seem to find the right discussion here.  Thanks

Hi Eric,

You'll need to create a new DNS entry for the subdomain, like example.mydomain.com with a CNAME record that points to yournetwork.ning.com.

Here's the help file on this. You'll want to do something similar to the third screenshot, except using your chosen subdomain instead of www.
