Test mail from creators? Spam or not spam?

Before some minutes got an e-mail from creators.ning.com. Is this a spam? Was the network hacked?

I think you deserve a pass on your faux pas, even though it shows a glaring lack of sensitivity training at Ning. But you're in luck—we made a corporate video on just this topic that Ning is welcome to use company-wide.

Thanks, Steve. I haven't seen that one! Pretty hilarious. I think this incident points out my Achilles heel (which I've always been aware of): I'm sometimes just a bit too flippant. We always strive to be informal (and maybe even fun) when it comes to interacting on Creators so we can banish corporate speak and talk like real people with our customers, but this is a good example of how being flippant or too informal — even when you think it's being done privately — can have unintended consequences. I'm going to buckle down and focus a bit more so I don't make this type of error again.
