I have decided to post a new thread because the thread "Network wonky in Chrome" has gotten off topic.  This has nothing to to with page loading speed.  Speed is minor.  This is a major problem for many Ning Creators.

IF this is not a NING-only problem, nor a cache problem, why aren't I and our members that are Google Chrome users, NOT having this page loading issue on any other site?  Not one.  This has became a problem for me personally the exact same time that Dan O reported this:

http://creators.ning.com/forum/topics/formatting

My page and a hell of a lot of others (Ning Creators and our members) pages look exactly like his screenshot.  Exactly.  This problem has intensified since the upgrade November 16th.

I went to the Google page, chrome: http://chrome/settings/clearBrowserData  and cleared everything twice.  Then to our site and clicked "preview", everything appeared Hunky Dory, then clicked SAVE. Back to mumbo-jumbo BS. I  have filed 4 tickets this long weekend.  No one from Ning The Famous "on call team" or otherwise has not  minding the damn store this long weekend. In the mean time, I have lost members because of this crap.  I am paying good money to have my site up and running normally. I am not happy, and that is putting it mildly.    Don't magine that I am alone, either.

No one should need to be clearing there browser for everything, nor should we have to change browsers or ask our members to do so. No one clears it on other websites.  This is not a solve all solution; it is a "quick fix" that no longer works.

The Ning Creators site can do nothing; send support tickets!!

We've had a lot of reports like this. I have been collecting them and will definitely share your report with our team. Thank you.

yaa-thanks for responding--Chrome and Ning are not playing nice together = and that has always been a match made in heaven!

yup-donchaknow--our network SUX right now--lol--we convinced so many to switch to Chrome--lol

I don't think the Network Wonky discussion is that off-topic.
It's that the problems are all over the place:

  • Bad CSS
  • Unresponsive plug-ins
  • Slowwwwness
  • Incomplete page loads
  • Loss of traffic
  • ...

Chrome seems to be a general issue but not for everyone (on our network) and problems also happen in other browsers. All the fingers are pointing at Ning and this is scary.

There does appear to be ongoing issues with CSS not loading correctly.

(If anyone is able to reach us via the ticketing process, our team may have a fix for you. Can't promise it, but in some cases they will have something for you.)

I never have any issues with my Ning Mini's but then they are very simple, lack custom CSS and even fewer features.

lol - rest -

I'm having lots of problems with the editors taking FOREVER to load.  Firefox is the major culprit.  It seems that no matter what browser you use, there is something effed up about it.  It gets frustrating, especially when members shoot back at you, "It's only on your site that it happens."

I've given up on Chrome. It's horrible now.  IE still doesn't show the Options drop down menu for discussions, and never has since the new version came out.  :(

we feel your pain--can you feel ours?? lol

Scott,

If you don't mind me asking, what's your website URL?

Best,

Jen

I just wanted to look at the cached version on Google to see if I could grab your old CSS. But, I'm not seeing a difference.

Best,

Jen

really!!!  we are having more and more members TODAY complaining of NO text editor in comments---they are refreshing their brains out-and nothing is happening!  Pick a browser!
