The New Design Studio is awesome but there is a problem with Advanced CSS?

Hi NCs,

I know many of you are having a problem with CSS code specially in the New Design Studio. The correct CSS is in the Advanced CSS box. But, it's not working properly. Some NCs think clearing the cache that would help. It doesn't work. Seriously, it's so frustrating.

I don't know the logic behind  perhaps, I have small hopes of obtaining a solution? And this  illogical method is working fine with me.

Solution:

Copy and paste the code one bye one ( which is not working) on  top of all your codes.

 Good Luck

Bernard

Hi Bernard,

Not sure what you're experiencing. I've been coding a custom design site for 3 days almost none-stop, and no issues.

Could it be just a particular site you're working on? Or, is there something happening across Ning that I missed?

Best,

Jen

Hi Jen,

Thanks for your reply. This is happening specially when I rearrange the code.

For Example:  If I have made the code like this then it works fine.

Menu { background: black;}

footer { background: black;}

Header { background: black;}

menu  a {color:red ;}

When I try to rearrange like this then some of the codes don't work.

Menu { background: black;}

menu  a {color:red ;}

footer { background: black;}

Header { background: black;}

Perhaps, if I cut and paste the code (whichever is not working) on top of all codes then I don't have to look back again. I mean it works fine.

That is really odd. Thanks for the details. Although "background" is an acceptable shorthand for background-color, I wonder if you should try changing background to background-color? Otherwise, I'm not seeing any issues here. I will look at this some more.

Let me ask what is probably a dumb question. You do use a Text Editor, and not a Word Processor, right?

Best Regards,

Jen

Lol. That's not the code I'm using Jen. This is an example of  how I'm rearranging the code and the code is not working while rearranging.

I use Text Editor.

BTW, thanks again.

oops, sorry. =) Then I guess I have to say, I don't have a clue. LOL

I would definitely send in a support ticket on this one. Just curious, does it happen on more than one site?

Wish I could help,

Jen
