From 2009 until late 2011, the Creators Community accepted Blog Post submissions from Creators. These are kind of hidden from view now, but occasionally you'll find yourself stumble upon one in search results. Some of them might be a little outdated, but there are quite a few gems in there still, so we're polishing them off and giving them a new setting: a dedicated NC Blogs feature on Creators 3.0. Having the most recent Blog Post be from 2011, though? Well, that simply won't do. So we're putting out a call to all NCs who love to write and share their tips, tricks, and knowledge.
- Blog Posts should fit into one of the categories below. While we really love reading your writing about mountain biking or interpretive dance, it doesn't really speak to the majority of the Creators audience, so we've set up these categories and explanations of what might be included. We're open to the idea of adding categories for topics we missed, though, so feel free to drop me a line and suggest a new category.
- Blog Posts must adhere to general conventions of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. While we're not going to make you follow AP Style to the letter, we do ask that you turn in a final draft-worthy piece that has been checked over and proofread. We'll do another quick pass through all blog posts before publishing to make sure all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed, but don't have the time to thoroughly copy edit every post. We understand that you probably aren't a professional writer and highly recommend pairing up with another NC to act as beta-readers for each other. As we move over to Creators 3.0, we'll create a formal group for those interested in being regular contributors to the blog. This will provide a place where you can have your blog drafts reviewed and constructively critiqued by fellow NCs. To help nourish new writers, we'll provide detailed feedback in response to your first rejected submission to help you revise your draft and resubmit.
- By submitting a post for NC Blogs, you acknowledge that it will be publicly available for reading and you grant Ning permission to reprint your post on the Ning Blog at Cultivate, as well as in any relevant eBooks that Ning may produce.
