Hi, I am new to NING and can really use some help in resolving some issues with my Network. I need to know where do I go to change the background on my sign in /sign up page. I see a lot of information on what code to use, but no step by step on what location I would put the code or how to go about doing it. I need a walk through.

Yeartie on September 26, 2012 at 7:32pm My issue may be that Im not putting the code in the correct location, so can you tell me where I should be putting this before I mess something up. As I stated, if I can get a step by step, would really do me some good, if you dont mind.

Just copy and paste George's code into advanced CSS box. Or you may want to change the background image suit to your preference.

Well, your background image size is too small for body background. It should be at least this much big.
Permalink Reply by George H. Compton IV on September 28, 2012 at 1:25pm I've inserted your image url in the codes. Bernard may be right about the size for the page background itself.
this one is for the background of the page itself
.xg_theme #xg_themebody
DIV#xg.account.external-auth.xg_widget_main.xg_widget_main_authorization.xg_widget_main_authorization_signIn
{
padding-top: 4.5%!important;
padding-bottom: 42% ;}
DIV#xg.account.external-auth.xg_widget_main.xg_widget_main_authorization.xg_widget_main_authorization_signIn{
background-image: url(http://api.ning.com/files/-S79Cao6YpJNH9dvZUwzIRUG7GrwCYzOo6kSepbfr...)!important;
background-attachment:
fixed; background-size:100% 100%; }
This one's for the module
DIV.xg_module.xg_lightborder.signin-module FORM.xg_module_body.xg_lightborder {
background-image: url( http://api.ning.com/files/-S79Cao6YpJNH9dvZUwzIRUG7GrwCYzOo6kSepbfr...)!important;
background-size:100% 100%; }
Here's a snapshot of it set as the background
Permalink Reply by Leroy S. Yeartie on September 28, 2012 at 4:33pm WOW, this is just want I want. I inserted the codes but they did not change anything. I am inserting the code in the Add Custom CSS. Correct?
Permalink Reply by George H. Compton IV on September 28, 2012 at 5:06pm the code needs to Be placed in your nc custom code box which is in your dashboard in the tools section. make sure you Add it with the <style> with it.
<style>
.xg_theme #xg_themebody
DIV#xg.account.external-auth.xg_widget_main.xg_widget_main_authorization.xg_widget_main_authorization_signIn
{
padding-top: 4.5%!important;
padding-bottom: 42% ;}
DIV#xg.account.external-auth.xg_widget_main.xg_widget_main_authorization.xg_widget_main_authorization_signIn{
background-image: url(http://api.ning.com/files/-S79Cao6YpJNH9dvZUwzIRUG7GrwCYzOo6kSepbfr...)!important;
background-attachment:
fixed; background-size:100% 100%; }
</style>
