I had this idea while driving back from the holidays and I figured it might be useful enough for you to try. The whole trick can be accomplished using the language editor. What we will be tweaking/ changing will look something like this:
First off, you may or may not know that everyone on your community has a special hidden page on their profile for posts that they have Favorited or liked in your community. The page has a pinterest style modular layout as a timeline. You can find this page by visiting the following URL replacing the address with your Ning address of course:
For example, one member on my community's Likes Page looks like this:
How We Accomplish This
STEP 1) I Changed the word 'Favorite It' and 'Favorited It' inside the button on all posts to 'Save This' and 'Saved It' using the Language Editor. Search for the word 'Favorite' and you'll find it.
STEP 2) Search for the following phrase inside the language editor:
<span %1$s>Views:</span> %2$s
STEP 3) Replace that with something like the following but do not remove or change anything with % like so:
This Content Originally Published by a member of such and such Network<br>
<span %1$s>Views:</span> %2$s<br>
<p><a href="http://YOURCOMMUNITY.NING.com/profiles/like/list?my=1" target="_self">See Your Saved Posts Timeline</a></p>
STEP 4) Now visit any post on your community and you will see that we have injected the text and link back to any member's Liked Page on your community.
Why does this single link work for everyone?
When a member is signed in, it recognizes who they are and will direct them to their own Liked Page when clicked.
Bonus Tip: Shorten that link using Bit.ly to track the number of times members visit their saved content page, if you like.
