Updated 06-25-2020

All the features of Ning 2.0 with  Ning 3.0 responsiveness.. ;) This code has been updated. It'll work on any layout but it works the best with the (A) layouts ( layout A1 - A4)

Tested and working in all newer browsers IE 9, 10, 11 - Firefox - Google Chrome - Safari. for cell phones, Laptops, PCs, Macintosh and yes TVs....

The fullwidth portion of this code also works in IE 7, 8. for Laptops, PCs and TVs...

It's compatible with all operating systems...

Compatible hardware - cell phones, Laptops, PCs, Macintosh and yes TVs....

Most pages will fit on the smallest of cell phones but I recommend a screen resolution of 480 pixels and wider. But like I said most of the network will fit on screen resolutions of 250 pixels and greater.

With this code your N2 will pass Google developers, mobile friendly test, without using Nings mobile app.

If anyone would like help setting this up I'll be more than happy to give you a hand.

  • Very nice George! I really appreciate it. Thanks 4 ur sharing. :)

    • You're welcome Innocent. :)
I've only spent a week and a half writing these codes for Dave's site. I won't be writing this for all themes and layouts like I did for Ning 3.0. I spent 2 1/2 months writing the codes for 3.0. So only the one theme and layout will be completed for Ning 2.

There are a few more updates I need to add to this tip to make it look perfect with everyone's configuration... I still need to add the responsiveness for the slideshow player in the left column. I also need to add the activity feed enhancements to the center column, for the videos. I should have these two updates installed in the next couple days, if not later today. :-)

Thank you again and you have a great day :-)

      • You are amazing George. I am a student and I am just the beginner of designing. Hope i will learn something from you. :)

        • Thank you for the compliment Innocent Hami..

  • OK Dr. Bernard Alvarez & Innocent Hami I have the updates integrated in part one in the code above. Now no matter which column your content is in it will display beautifully and responsiveley. :)

  • Hey George, really awesome job! Works perfect as I squeeze down my window but it's not doing it when I look at it on my mobile device (Galaxy III - Explorer browser). It defaults to the dedicated mobile view. When I switch it over to desktop view on my mobile then I have to do the usual pinch, zoom, scroll side-to-side. ...What gives?

    • Oh btw, I was referring to your  http://beachcatsaustralia.ning.com site.

      • Thank you Scott. :-)

I'm not sure why your galaxy 3 is not displaying correctly, I've never used one before. I've done some research online and a lot of people are having troubles with CSS3 with the galaxy 3 default browser.
You can try couple different things that were suggested online for the galaxy 3.
        Clearing your catch.
        Clearing your data.
Upgrade your browser and/or using a third-party browser.

Hope this helps you have a great day Scott :-)

        • Just an fyi- I tried Chrome too and then cleared cache and cookies, still didn't work. If you could get it to work on Galaxy (which is a big chunk of the mobile world) I believe N3 would become completely obsolete as this is way better.

          • Scott can you explain to me little more on what problems you are having with the Galaxy III, is it the columns that are not fitting or the content?
If you can send me a screenshot that would help.
