Trending Widget for My Ning Network

Hi,

I would like to set a "trending" Topic widget that will display the the 3 or 5 trending topics in the activity wall.  Something like Twitter does.  For example,  I can ask people to include hashtags #something when they write a status load a photo or an event ... then we get the widget to display the top 10 most trending topics.  Additionally, we would add a search widget so that users can do searches for specific hash tags.

Has anyone develop something like this?  Any suggestions are welcome!

ive been to trying to add this myself,,it can be done,,havent came across all parts to make it yet,,almost done

of course,i will,,,multi tasking right now,,working on a pimtrest style photo gallery for our network,if i can get it going might go live with it sometime today..
