A quick note about a simple change to the footer of your social website.
It's been nearly six months since we completed the merger of Ning with Glam Media. As you might expect, since that time we've been steadily integrating the two organizations into one, incorporating the strengths of both. Most Network Creators probably haven't thought much about the merger since it was announced, but if you're one of the Network Creators who have applied to run Glam ads, you probably have noticed how well Glam's opt-in advertising solutions combine with Ning's social platform.
One of the last steps to integrating these two entities is to update the logo of the combined companies. This week, we'll be doing that on the Ning Platform by replacing the legacy logo image in the footer with a new logo image. The updated image isn't all that different from the old one. It combines the Glam and Ning logos together in one logo — without the Ning "burst" that appeared previously.
Here they are side by side, for comparision:
Old
New
This is a simple change, but we wanted to let you know about it ahead of time.

Do we have to have the Ning logo?
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on May 23, 2012 at 1:12pm There is no change to the way this works for your network, Tyler. This is simply swapping out an old image for a new one. If you're referring to the change of the footer for brand-new networks, the same information stated in this discussion still applies.
Permalink Reply by Tyler Durbin on May 23, 2012 at 1:17pm I just saw that thread, thanks Eric. I am going to open another site and would have jumped on it earlier had I known. I guess it is no big deal. Can you guys charge my competitors twice as much? LOL

"I wouldn't be surprised if "Glam Media Technologies" shows up in the footer soon."

Permalink Reply by Nor Cal Social Media on May 23, 2012 at 3:33pm I would not choose to have this Glam branding, so I second SP's inquiry- new networks only?
For a person that is unfamiliar with me, my site's theme, and Ning it is very important to me not to have anything that could potentially give them the wrong impression. The term "glam" has social connotations I personally do not want to be associated with- almost deal breaker level.
If it is absolutely necessary, then allow me this appeal: "Glam Media" is far preferrable to "Glam Social". I can qualify this on personal preference, but the Google results on Glam Media justify my recommendation- far better impression of the organization, more established information, and much less chance for potential confusion.

Hi SP,
This is for all networks that are showing the current starburst logo in the footer.
