Date format issue in "Create event" module for German networks prevents saving of events!

Dear Ning, dear fellow NING creators,

suddenly our users are unable to create ANY new events on our platform!

The symptoms are:

- The German Menue Name "Veranstaltungen" suddenly appears in the english form only on the site in the menues as "Events"

- When opening the "Create event page" the date format of the start and end date look wrong (ending with  "....J")

- when you than click the little calendar to select e.g. a start date the pop-up calendar appears correcty; but when you than click on a day the main screen jumps to the top & the date selected in the "Start date" field suddenly ends on "...jj". The content of the start date filed than looks like "tt.05.jj". If I than manully overtype that in the "date" filed with a correct lookng date it still gives error message when saving (see next bullet point)

-> when you than try to save the event the system gives you an error message that start- and end date are not correct -> you cannot save -> you cannot create any events at the moment"

Can you please quickly solve this NING?

As we have a major event day (May 13,) coming up and many of our members are trying to create events at the moment.

@fellow NING creators:

Anyone having similar problems at the moment?

Thanks a lot

The Team of Transition Town DACH

Hey There! Have you already contacted our support team about this?

Hi Eric,

yes I did:

Ticket-Nr. is 00693646

My guess is someone at NING somehow messed with the (German only?) language files and/or logic & screwed up some of the "inner logic"; as before yesterday the "Events" Section was correctly shown as "Veranstaltungen" (in German) on our Website as it always was. Than suddenly it is displayed now in English only as "Events" (while rest of our site stays still in German and is working fine) and since than we have this problem.

It must have happened sometimes in last 6h to 36h that this bug was introduced into the system.

Hope this helps & that it can quickly be solved by your team! Would be great if you could escalate it and/or add this info.

Thanks a lot for your support!

Thank you for that ticket number! We are taking a look.

Hey,

we are a German Community as well and have exactly the same problem! We try to create events but it appears an error indication because of the event date.

Events are a very important tool for our website. So we hope that the problem can quickly be solved!

Thanks!

Thank you, Stephan, for the report!

Just wanted to say thanks again for the excellent reports. This was filed as a bug and I hope to update you next with a fix.

Glad we could be of help Eric.

Guess the current way the linkage "not-works" between the popup-calendar and the "date" fields is also part of the problem.

Hope very very much you can solve it ASAP; as this is really a major blockage for our and all other German NING-sites!

Confirmed, all issues mentioned above occur here also.

(Btw. the city Bielefeld does not exist.  :-)  )

same problem (still now). unable to enter any event-date - in what syntax ever.

Very sorry this is causing trouble, Gerhard. We have identified the problem and have a solution coming soon. Unfortunately, the fix may not be live on your network until you have gone to bed (if you're in Germany right now). But, we know the underlying issue and this should be a relatively easy fix. Appreciate your ongoing patience.

Are there any news?

We just started our community this week and it is really important for us that our members can create an event.

Thank you!

I will update as soon as I have word. Hoping this will be done soon.
