Via their Ustream accounts, yes, or if you've enabled the social stream, then tweets they make from the interface will show up as well.
If they have to sign-in via their Ustream accounts, would you mind giving us your thoughts on the advantages of installing Ustream via Ning, instead of embedded code? For some reason, it's not hitting me yet. Love this though, just wondering about the pros and cons, and details...
Can site visitors see the Ustream Box, or just signed-in Ning members?
Visitors can see the lightbox, yes. The benefit of the extension over just using embed code is that it's available on all pages of the site and visitors and members can tell at a glance that you're streaming live video via the red/green indicator.
Nice! Thanks Phil, really important factors to know.
Hey, JP. I'm sorry that your expectations over the years haven't been fully met. Sounds like a number of these questions are rhetorical, but I'll try to answer one that doesn't sound that way: If your members want to use UStream's chat, they will have to use a UStream account. To be clear: This Extension is in no way designed to be a replacement for the current chat; if that's your intention, it probably won't be sufficient.
I think this is an impressive service for something that costs nothing to turn on and start broadcasting. Not everyone wants or needs a full-featured, true, deep API integration. Sometimes people just want to broadcast puppies. This is an easy way to do that.
