Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on October 3, 2011 at 12:54pm Just wanted to let you know that I think this YouTube video thumbnail embed issue is fixed. Give it a shot with some new content.
I gave a try with the iframe code and it still failed to bring in a thumbnail. So I switched to the old embed code and oddly it didn't bring in any off the other information, so I had to copy and paste it all.
While you're looking at it can you get it to pull in the key word tags, I usually have to copy and paste them anyway, and it would be nice if it didn't truncate the message.
Thanks for taking a look at this.
Permalink Reply by Billy Hengen on November 15, 2011 at 11:17am Is it possible to get thumbnails from any site not Vimeo, Youtube or Hulu? I embed videos from Minnesota Prep Sports websites and I get the default camcorder thumbnail. Do I have any options here to change it to a relevant thumbnail?
Thanks and I apologize if this question has been answered already.
Permalink Reply by Eric Suesz on November 15, 2011 at 9:33pm We're only able to support thumbnails for some video sharing services: they have to offer it and we have to integrate it. So, not all services will pull in thumbnails. The default image can't be changed. I filed that as a feature enhancement request, although it hasn't happened yet. My hope is that we can both change the default image and provide a way for you to set a default image, too.
Permalink Reply by Kathy Cordell on May 2, 2012 at 11:27pm I hope that enhancement is done soon, of being enabled to set my own thumbnail image for a video that isn't from one of the major sites. Thanks for filing the request for that feature.
Permalink Reply by Mauricio BM on December 29, 2011 at 9:25am Hello everybody:
Congratulations and best wishes for 2012!!
We do web tv and when we publish a video from US Stream, it doesn't appear the image of a trim. It only appears the default image of a video camera.
This does not happen if we embed the video from Youtube or Vimeo, because if we embed as the old code, it always appears a trim from the video.
Are you aware of this? Do you have plans to fix it?
Thanks,
Mauricio

Permalink Reply by Debby Bruck on January 22, 2012 at 7:10pm It is now January 22, 2012. Would still like to have the new YouTube code be able to post the thumbnail photo. It is great when I post using the OLD HTML code, but not everyone knows to do this.

I understand this was a question in 2010
Is this something of concern for anyone else or that the NING team will be reviewing?
Permalink Reply by Shawn on November 12, 2012 at 9:39am I know this topic originally began as a youtube issue but on my site I can't get any embed codes to "stick". I typically link various news outlet videos and the embed codes are not displaying the video like they once were. This have been going on for many months. I first contributed it to changes from the news sites but it can't be that they all have issues and it's not something to do with my site.
I've tried in html and visual mode with same results.
I'll attempt a video add here that I tried on my site unsuccessfully today to see if it will work on these forums.
Permalink Reply by Shawn on November 12, 2012 at 9:41am Above is the same results I'm receiving on my site. Code added, the media source's after video "crumbs" but no video.
